So I realize that its been a while since I blogged and in all reality I just didn’t feel like doing it! Ha! But I had to share my newest creation with you! I saw a cool bag at target and I decided I wanted to work with some fake leather and try and replicate it! And here it is! Hopefully you can see it cause i took the pics with my phone and they didn’t come out very clear.

In other news I sold a bag to a lady in Maldives! Gee Whiz!

Well lets see, looking at my calender here I see that Christmas is 11 days away. I have most of my Christmas presents bought but I haven’t actually gone shopping or visited any online store. I see you scowling at me in confusion right now. Actually, my mom has so kindly helped me out by graciously letting me pretend that the some of the gifts that she bought for my family were actually bought by me. :o ) Love that lady.

As it would turn out I have had no time in the last few months to even think about shopping much less do any. And after I realized that Christmas is coming up I looked at my calander and realized that the only days I’m not working at market all day or nannying between now and Christmas are, 1. Christmas Day, 2. Today, and 3. next sunday, Which I will be spending with my Dad’s family. So I went to my mother, explained my perdiciment, and she fixed it all. Again, Love that Lady.

So, as you might be able to tell by my last post I opened an online shop in hopes of seeling some of my bags. And, I had my first sale! Woot Woot! :o ) I sold one of my wallets to a lady in TN. She got it this weekend and she loves it! I’m so proud of myself and I just had to tell you.

In other news…. I started a new job this weekend! Big changes are happening in Paradise ladies and gentleman. My new boss asked me if I would want to come and work for him and due to a pile of complicated reasons I waved goodbye to my old boss and followed my new one. :o ) And after working a weekend at my new job this is what I can tell you…

~I’m selling produce (fruits and veggies)

~ I get to do a ton of prep work which I love.

~ I love it

~ When I got home on Saturday night I wasn’t covered in blood nor did I smell like a pork chop…. my hands do smell a tad like onion though because of the salads I was putting together.

~ I’m exhausted. Running around like crazy filling and preping and helping people for 24 of the last 48 hours is tiring. But it’s a good tired.

~ I’m actually excited to go to market on Friday. I haven’t been in a long time.

~ My bosses… bossi… boss’ I dunno… The multiple people that are in charge are awesome

~ My co workers are pretty cool.

~ I love it :o )

… My Etsy Shop!!!!! Surf on over and check her out!

That’s all I’ve got to say about that… Get out and vote people!

Last weekend I went to an event at my church and listened to Neal R. speak on his experience in Iraq. Neal just got back a few months ago from a tour in Iraq as a Lt. then a Captain I believe. Anyway, I was listening to him speak and even though I had heard a lot of his stories before, they really struck me. Most of what we hear/see on the news is death and destruction, shooting and bombing. But Neal’s stories, even though they included the grim side of war, were encouraging to me. Neal spent a lot of time in the communities, building relationships and creating jobs for the locals. He told us stories of the growth that the country is experiencing. Of course, there are still problems, and there are several groups of people trying to make things difficult in the area. But good things are happening. Our guys and girls in uniform are doing a fantastic job and I, personally, really appreciate it!

There comes a point in every war where the voices of the displeased are louder than the voices of the proud. And we have definitly reached that point. As a country there needs to be a concerted effort to see this thing through. Maybe you supported this from the start, maybe you never did. Wherever you are, please don’t forget there are people over there. Not just statistics. THere are men and women in Iraq that need our unconditional support through the end. Even if you don’t agree with the president’s desicions or actions, don’t take it out on the troups by being insulting or disparaging. No one loves war… if they do they are messed up…

That’s all I have to say about that…

I always enjoy finding blog based tutorials that are quick and easy! Surf on over to these sites and check out the tutorials and don’t forget to see what else these blog authors are up to!

~<Little Boxy Pouches>~  Super simple and great for carrying around in your bag for the small things that tend to get lost in big bags.

~<Storage Cubes>~  The cube I made ended up in my car between the seats holding CD’s and other random things that tend to fly around.

~<CD Pocket>~ I use mine to carry CD’s in my bag on the weekends when I’m stuck in other people’s cars without good music. :o )

~<Drawstring Bags>~ I love to carry these in my bags too! They are also great for traveling! Make sure you check out her other bag tutorials. I followed her tutorial for a backpack and that one came out great as well!

Hope you can use some of these.

I was hoping for a nice fall day today, but alas, that’s not happening. Of course I’m surprised this didn’t happen sooner since I washed my car the other day, for some reason washing my car is like doing a rain dance… before long the sky always seems to decide to rain. But, I get to see one of my bestest friends today who is home from Ohio for fall break, so that day is looking up!

I decided that since I have a blog now and I need something to blog about I should try and bring you the constant adventure of keeping my sewing room clean. Ha, funny joke there. Anyway after walking past it this morning and noticing the half finished projects forgotten on the floor and the random bits of clutter and such I decided something needed done. So after making a list (:o) always good to have one of those) I’m ready. Before pictures are on the way and the after ones will hopefully be soon to follow. :o ) Stay tuned, should be an adventure.

Ah, yes, reverse applique is what I believe it’s called. New Holland Coffee Company is that name of a coffee shop one of my friends owns. And is where I happen to be blogging from right now. :o ) But I dressed up an oh so simple and boring plum colored tote bag with the little patch. Fun stuff. Try it for yourself! Break out your Heat and Bond and see what you can come up with! There are no rules.

As election season rolled around this year I was not at all impressed with my choices on the Republican side (Needless to say I was not impressed at all by the other side’s choices). And after McCain became the nominee I realized I had little choice so I kind of got behind him… not really though. But as soon as he annouced his VP, I, like a lot of the conservative base, finally got passionate about out only choice for president. If you missed Palin’s speech at the RNC or even if you need a little refresher, surf over to YouTube here and watch it!

Just as a little side note I think I should insert my definition of Conservative Republican. I agree with commentators/authors such as Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck, and others. I feel that the government needs to get out of the American people’s way and let us lead our own lives our own way. Taxes should be lower, and we should have more freedom as Americans. I also think we need to start drilling here and now for oil and other energy sources so that we can reduce our dependence not only on foreign oil but also on the moronic terrorists who own it. And at the end of the day the government must stop spending our tax dollars so incredibly recklessly.

Now, after saying all that I can say that I am FULLY behind Sarah Palin. Not only for her conservative values and her incredible record, but also because she is going to help McCain swing a little closer to the right side of Republican. Because, right now I believe that McCain, although he has his good points, is a pretty liberal Republican, unfortunately. So God bless Sarah Palin for bringing us conservatives out here a chance for the change we NEED.

So in order to show my 24/7 support for the McCain Palin ticket I designed this pretty sweet bag.

With the help of a little Heat and Bond Ultra Hold and a McCain Palin Bumper Sticker I did a little reverse applique type thing.

And the other side shows off two Republican Elephants

And the art of the zipper (which I finally have a handle on) and a little wristlet strap.

I’ve gotten many many compliments on this bag! I love it too! Hopefully you can draw some inspiration from it whether you are a Dem or a Republican. And remember! Be informed! And vote (Republican)!
